The Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) recognized St. Joseph Heritage Medical Group (SJHMG) as a "Quality Performer" in California. This is the sixth consecutive year that SJHMG has been recognized by IHA for its clinical excellence.
The IHI quality awards are based on performance in three Pay for Performance (P4P) quality measurement areas: meaningful use of health information technology, patient experience and clinical measures that include priority conditions such as cardiovascular, diabetes, musculoskeletal, respiratory and prevention. Physician groups whose overall performance score surpassed a comprehensive statewide threshold based on the top 25 percent score for each P4P quality measure are selected for recognition as top Quality Performers.
Nearly 200 physician organizations, representing approximately 35,000 physicians who provide care for about 9 million patients, participate in the IHA statewide Pay for Performance (P4P) program. Only 39 physician organizations, including SJHMG, achieved "Quality Performer" status.
"St. Joseph Heritage Medical Group is dedicated to raising the bar on performance improvement," said CR Burke, president and CEO, Heritage. "We are honored and proud to be a top performer this year. It demonstrates the continued commitment of our physicians and staff to provide exceptional care, and the many outstanding new programs and quality measures we've implemented to improve the health care experience."
